convert 1100 to Left hand

Does anyone know if the factory safety on my 1100 can be turned around and function from the left side (Right handed gun at a great price, but I am left handed). Either that or do you know of an aftermarket safety that will work.

My brother made his own out of a piece of rod he found at a hardware store. It is a fairly simple shape, and he just chucked it up in a drill. I don't know of anyone that makes one. He absolutely loves the right hand gun as the port is right infront of your face and easy to access. KURTM

I will stop looking and go to Calvin's and make one. Know of anyone who will thread for choke tubes cheap? Going rate seems to be about $100-150.

Uncle Mikes used to make one. They sometimes appear on eBay and similar places. My gunsmith converted the trigger group (redrilled the pin holes) so I could put a righty safety in backwards.

I'm left handed and shoot a right handed 1100. I love the port where I can see it, operate the bolt with the weak hand, etc. As for the safety, on "standby" I put my left thumb on the enlarged safety button I got from Brownells, on the buzzer I push it in, shoulder the SG and blaze away... No problem, easy as pie!
