CJW
Hi all, I've been lugging my 3-gun stuff around in a Voodoo padded 42" double rifle case, which has worked out pretty well. Now I am starting to look at doing some things farther than driving distance. I know I could just leave the padded case at home and fly with any hard case (probably a Storm) that holds everything. On the other hand, if I could just throw the whole Voodoo bag inside a hard case for travel, that would be even easier. Anybody use this combo and can recommend a hard case that definitely fits the Voodoo 42"? Thanks!
Alpha
I would also recommend pelican cases. I do not own one myself, but one if my shooting buddies does and loves it. This is a bit unorthodox, but some golf shops rent travel cases for golf clubs at very reasonable prices. Family members and I would rent golf club cases for hunting or shooting trips because we did not travel frequently enough to justify the cost of purchasing hardcases. They actually work surprisingly well. Just an idea for you to think about.
Graham Smith
I've looked into the same thing for a Condor case. Get the outside measurements of the soft case and check both Pelican and Storm cases to find the one that's closest. You might also want to contact the folks at Voodo - I imagine this has come up before. Just a suggestion, get the case with the foam - it's cheaper to get it when you buy it than to buy it afterwards.
Pro-Pain
Duct Tape and carpenter's 3 way joint reinforcements for the corners? Starlight cases could work too..
Mickster
I fly with the Storm case. Cut the foam to fit your guns as you normally would. Take the top foam (in the lid) out and replace it with the VooDoo case. Close the whole thing up. When you get to the match leave the Storm Case in the motel and use the VooDoo. I've done this many times and it works great.

BD Williamson
I am using the Voodoo bag as well and just leaving the guns in the Voodoo bag with some foam in strategic areas (Like around optics)and it work great for me. I still have the Starlight case for sale and would take a offer on it. B
CJW
BD, the Starlight looks like a good case, but a little big at 52". I think I'd prefer something that fits the Voodoo a little better.

CJW
I finally got around to placing an order for this. The Pelican Storm iM3220 is a perfect fit for the Voodoo 42" double bag. I ordered with the foam, pulled out the three thick layers of foam, and that left the egg crate foam inside the lid and a thin layer on the bottom for a little cushioning, and the Voodoo, complete with Benelli M2 Tactical (Nordic +5) and 20" AR-15, fits snugly inside. With the outer MOLLE pockets on the bag full, the fit is a bit snug to close the case lid, but it does indeed close, and with the six double-throw latches it stays closed. Looks like a winner to me! Tyro Shooter
I use a Condor dragbag and a pelican 1750, take all the foam out and the bag fits just right
sdwilliams
pelican 1750 and a voodoo tac 46" bag. +1 Same setup here. When I don't need the bag however, I use the foam. Have flown the M2, AR and my pistol along with most of my caddies and mags, all in the same case. Sherry
