brass & bullet storage

I picked a bunch of these up to put my nails and screws in. It then dawns on me that they would make great bullet & brass storage containers too. They are clear plastic, stackable, and have a latching top to prevent spillage. I got mine at Walmart in the plastic storage totes aisle. They come in two sizes. Half of the time when the Ups drops off the bullet boxes, they are barely holding together.

I use nothing but 30&50 Cal. GI Ammo cans. They have the rubber seal so they won't allow any dust or moisture in and they are easily stackable. I put a label on the end of the can so I know what the contents are. Plus they hold a heck of a lot of bulky brass.

I've debated using something similar, but I'm somewhat worried of residual moisture left inside, especially for longer periods of time. That's why I use an "open" design, without having to put decissent (sp) or silica gel inside to soak some of it up.

...Now that I think about it though, brass doesn't rust, huh?

I got a whole closet full of those too, but mine all have load ammo in them. Needed something for the left over in between reloadings.

Ziplok freezer bags for brass, both quart and gallon size (the quart size holds just about the amount I am willing to reload in one session). The bags go into those plastic storage crates with the split hinged tops, or into 5 gallon lidded buckets.

I guess I've been lucky - the bullets stay in the boxes they were shipped in. MG and Precision are pretty good about carefully boxing up their stuff.

Loaded ammo in cardboard boxes in my "magazine".

Gallon milk jugs with the top cut off work great for me to store loaded ammo and smaller amounts of brass. The handles are strong enough to hold 500 rounds of most ammo. The USPS medium shipping boxes are also good for brass storage.
