G34 CORDY
Do any of you guys have the SVI Signature Series grip with a STI Edge upper? I havnt felt one yet but from what I hear it feels like a CZ/Tanfo type grip. I love the way my CZ feels and would like my STI Edge to feel the same. lumpygravy
No experience with the Signature grip, but SV (or your 'smith) can fit one to your frame. Apparently fitting is not recommended for dremel warriors like me . Labor + the cost of the grip of your choice.
BlueOvalBruin
It can be done. The SV metal grips are awesome but some extra fitting is required due to the slightly different sized sti frame. I would send it to SVI and have them put it on.
Bsbllrooster
Those SV grips really are something else. Ive been drooling over getting one for a while but at 450+ and then fitting... Its a steep price. That combined with the fact that I've never held one makes me hesitant. But to each his own. Cheers

I live not to far from SV so when I get some time Iam going to drive up there and handle some and talk to Brandon about the setup.
Bsbllrooster
Great home location selection. Let me know if they feel as good as they look.
RippSpeed
I didnt want to post a new thread ... so does anyone know if this is do'able ( SV stainless steel grip on STI Frame) ??? I want the SV Infinity competition grip ... Will this affect mags ???
Julien Boit
It is doable. The best thing to do is to send it to SV so they could make the fit nice and tight. I use STI mags in my Infinity pistols for training and it works Ok. AFAIK, only the Rescomp tubes needs some trimming to fit perfectly in Signature grips. Cheers at 450 grip that comes with trigger and stainless mag well i think its fair. magwell alone would cost 90.00 trigger base and insert bout 80.00 so all in all the grip would be about $260? not too far from painted grips dont you think? CHARLES D
A couple folks I shoot with had it done to their SVI. Total cost was at a grand for everything. They do feel a bit heavier. Feel great.

I think you got the price wrong its not $260 ... the basic SV grip starts @ $450 Actually it's ~$450 for an aluminum grip Add $135 for either a steel or stainless grip Add $60 for an aluminum magwell or $100 for a steel/stainless magwell I'm having Brandon fit one to refurb an old frame and in addition to the above, he suggested a new grip safety (+$70) so that he could blend it to the rear strap of the frame/grip. Your frame may/may not need a new grip safety, but I think he's done enough of these retrofits that do need it so he recommends it up front. My tab is right at ~$1,000 and includes a few additional parts for the refurb and shipping. I should have it back by mid September and I'll update this thread to let you all know how it turned out. RoryW
He makes one specifically for the STI frame and will install if you ship it to him. If you want the signature grip, you will have to get new grip safety. The BEST thing to do is call him.
