caz41
Anyone try either of these for a .308 hoser type round? They are both listed as non-corrosive and are under 50 cents a round. Anyone using something else? http://shop.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/200-rds-308-cal-147-gr-fmj-ammo-with-50-cal-ammo-can.aspx?a=738020&bi=190699 http://shop.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=757491 http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/pName/100rds-308762x51-american-tactical-imports-milspec-150gr-fmj-ammo/cName/308-762-nato-all-308-762-nato Edited April 16, 2011 by caz41
Junior
I bought 5,000 rounds of the german ammo and it shoots very lightly... it may not run your gun correctly. I've found the lake city 147 tends to shoot a little stouter and function my .308 more reliably... but that could just be my gun. It's a 14.5" .308 with a mid-length gas system. If it runs in your gun then it is pretty great stuff for the price.
spd522
Not specifically the ammo you posted, but I have had some surplus not go bang in my DPMS .308 because of the very hard primer. Sometimes it's MG ammo that's been delinked. My .308 has a JP trigger for the .308 in it but I use the stock hammer spring and it still doesn't go off. So if you have a modified trigger group, some surplus may not run 100%. Just my findings. Your results may be different. Craig
caz41
How about these? Anybody got any experience with them? They are a little more money. http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=121066
Bryan 45
Kind of high for hoser ammo. It's on the slow side too. Here's Federal and PMC 150g for under .60/round, and American Eagle 168g OTM for .75/round. http://palmettostatearmory.com/308-762-ammo.php
1chota
i handload a 110 gr. carbine bullet with the same powder measurement as my match HPs. carbine bullets run about 9cents a round.
caz41
.37/round, that is about as cheap as I can reload them for. It is made in Russia so it may just be a Wolf/Brown Bear knock off. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Ammunition/Rifle-Ammunition|/pc/104792580/c/104691780/sc/104532480/Herters-308-Win-Ammunition-with-Dry-Box/734633.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fshooting-ammunition-rifle-ammunition%2F_%2FN-1100190%2B10000054%2B4294754890%2FNe-10000054%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104532480%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253Bcat104792580%253Bcat104691780%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104792580%3Bcat104691780%3Bcat104532480 Edited May 3, 2011 by caz41
