Aircooled6racer
Hello: Here are two projects I have been working on. The "Daddy" is a Caspian/Foster race ready framed 45acp and the "Grandpa" is a 40S&W on a old school Caspian frame. The "Grandpa" has old school original Swenson's, welded extended slide release and a Wislon extended mag release. "Grandpa" was owned by Firebird firearms Nanci and Jim previously. I have a little more work to do on both but thought you guys would enjoy them. Thanks, Eric

Aircooled6racer
Hello: Jim is a grandpa Jim, yes I did those slide serrations and have done some others as well. They are done on a Bridgeport and are not CNC cut. Old school way. The slide stop on the "Grandpa" was modified by Dan Sierpina so Jim told me. I am not sure how old those Swenson's are? It has been fun building these 1911's and I hope to shoot them soon. Thanks, Eric
GentlemanJim
The Swensons are circa 1984 Dan made the slidestop, and its SUPER cool J-Ho, Yes he is saying something And Eric,...Those cuts are nice, I like em Jim
Dan Sierpina
Eric, The modified slide stop was done by me. Jim asked me for something larger than a "normal" extended slide stop. It's not as big as the ones I've done for Open guns
Aircooled6racer
Dan: It is a beautiful silver solder job on it and very well made It is very large and cannot be missed even with small hands. I may have to try it on my open pistol. I appreciate the compliments Jim on the slide cuts. They were done with no DRO just the dial on the Bridgeport handles I really need to get a DRO soon. Anyone know how old the Grandpa frame is? It is very cool and feels great in the hand. Thanks, Eric
GentlemanJim
I got two of those frames from Caspian in about 1985 or 6 Caspian made some for other companys as well I built two major 9mm s with some of the first Clark ramped 9mm barrels on those frames We shot them at USPSA Nats in 1989 when Very few major 9s existed We loaded 168gr lead bullets from Paul Miller at Colorado cast bullet to 38super oal Both guns had my design comps, Bomar sights in the rear and front sights dovetailed into the comps I was only a few decades ahead of the curve, with the sight tracker theme And the comp design has not been matched to this day Jim
Aircooled6racer
Jim: I appreciate the info on the frame. I will show you these when I get a chance. I think you will be impressed with them. We are still in soccer mode till next month then back to shooting for me. I may even shoot single stack Thanks, Eric
