Supermoto
Does any one know if these 10 rounders will fit in the EAA limited with a factory magwell. I assume I might need to shave the basepad to fit http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=576427 I unfortunately moved to New York and do want not to modify my Standard mags that I have left behind Thanks
Nealio
That mag is for an Zastava pistol, not a Tanfoglio so I doubt they fit.
Skydiver
You can do what our Canadian friends do up north. Instead of modifying the mag, they use the stock follower, and then glue/screw on a aluminum or copper tube on the injection molding sprew in the middle of the follower. Trim the length of the tube so that it only allows 10 rounds in the magazine. That way you can still use the extended Henning pads, but still comply with law where no more than 10 rounds can be put into the magazine. (I had done this same modification on my followers last year when I thought I could make it to the Canadian Nationals. Unfortunately, my vacation plans and budget fell through.) Supermoto
I'll try the aluminum or copper tubing, hopefully that will satisfy NY ridiculous requirements. I just ordered the factory followers Edited April 10, 2011 by Supermoto
Skydiver
I'll try the aluminum or copper tubing, hopefully that will satisfy NY ridiculous requirements. I just ordered the factory followers I just got home. On my followers, the diameter of the injection molding sprew is about 0.213". The copper tubes I was using was actually brass: Outer Diameter 1/4"... Inner Diameter of 0.221". I picked these at a RC Model hobby shop. The sticker says K&S Engineering. Chicago, IL. Stock #131 Rd. Brass Tube 1/4 x .014 (6.35mm x .355mm) (260) I eventually went with an aluminum tube. OD about 0.222" ID about 0.182" No more stickers to get you the details, but it was from the same manufacturer. Here is one of my prototypes: The screw at the bottom is to allow for fine tune adjustments. I hope that helps. I'll have to go find some tubes tomorrow.
Supermoto
Well, It was a sad day, but I successfully limited my mags to
Skydiver
Maybe someday the 10-round states will figure out that they are just being silly with their 10 round limits. Of course, those same states may figure out: "Let's make money! Do a 25 cent per round "property tax" on all magazines." :-( Well, I'm glad that you got a way to stay legal in New York, and still have options when you go travel elsewhere. Skydiver
Out of curiosity, what did you use as that extension tube?
Supermoto
I ended up using 1/4" Gray Pex tubing from Home Depot. I flattened it in a vise to fit inside the spring
