TCKev
Thinking of buying a 6" slide to go along with my 5" build both in 40. I know there are a lot of 6" 2011's being built these day's. Not that I'm any comparison to TGO but I saw he took 3rd at the Lim-10 Nat's with a 6" skinny gun. I shoot Lim-10 exclusively it's what I like to play. EkuJustice
Dont really see many 6inch single stacks mainly because its not SS legal and only legal for lim 10. The 2011 is just easier to load faster than the SS so most go that route for L10. The longer slide helps with acuracy but really needs some slide lightening done since it has the extra weight in the nose it tends to flop around more
Airedale
I have one and really enjoy shooting it. I don't shoot L10 much but use it when I do. Dave
Joe4d
you dont see many SS 6" becasue there really isnt any sport or division where they are the best tool for the job. They are not legal in most SS games and a double stack is easier to load for L10, and has a huge capacity advantage in limited or open. A 6" doublestack just makes more since. TCKev
I shoot Lim-10 with a 40 Trojan. I don't like the way the 2011 feel's. But while in the mist of building a new 1911 I thought I would add a 6" slide to it. I know that the SS is limited to the 5" gun.
lumpygravy
I have 5" and 6" top ends on the way for a .40 LDC build because the same wide body frame can be used both for Limited and L-10. The plan is to go light on both slides and see which one I shoot better. My current 5" limited gun weighs 36oz with a full profile slide and Wilson tungsten guide rod (the fatty). My goal with the new gun is 36-38oz but with less slide weight. By lightening the new slides and using a stainless guide rod, I figure I can get close. RickB
I have a 6", single stack .45, built specifically for Limited 10. Mine has a bull barrel and heavily ventilated slide, over a Caspian Race Ready frame. I shot it almost every weekend for over five years, but I've mostly switched to single stack, lately. Robbie shot a 6", single stack .45 at Area 1, when the match was in my neighborhood, and I think he beat everyone but the Open division winner. chrisjohn
I shoot a 6 inch Trojan lightened by Benny Hill for limited 10, don't shoot all that well but the gun is outstanding. That being said I had to have another barrel fit as the factory fit barrel had too much of the feet removed, so go custom as I am into mine 1800 after the work and hard chrome.
