stringcheese
Are there any published loads for a 357 sig with a 125g jacketed bullet with 231 powder?
goosedowner
I just looked in the new Lyman book and it does not list 231 for any weight bullets in the sig section.
stringcheese
I checked my lyman and my sierra book. nothing there. I would think that 231 would be compatable. I checked winchester's site too, nothing.
JOHNNYGLOCK
There is not any published data for 231 and the sig car. I would think 231 is to fast for that round. I load .357 sig and it is better suited with slower powders. I use power pistol. S.C.I. the band?
Foxbat
Sierra lists 231 loads for their light bullets, 90 and 95 grains. Other than this - there seems to be nothing.
stringcheese
I guess no one "detunes" a 357 sig. We only want to make minor with the load and I figured a 9mm load like 4.5 grains of 231 would work. If anyone has any insight into this I would be very grateful. We have an odd man out in our shooting buddy group and it would make my life easier, as the guy who reloads everything, to not to have to change powders and charges and stuff every time I reload a batch. I understand the need for a slower powder for reaching the potential of the 357 sig, but if I detune it, shouldn't 4.5 grains of 231 be safe?
