texarkana
I am trying to get serious about an EAA Gold. I also did a search to my question and could not find anything. So here goes..... Does the EAA Gold have a pre travel or take up adjustment screw on the trigger? Does it have an over travel adjustment screw? Will a trigger job by Rich @ Canyon Creek eliminate the creep on the trigger. Excuse my ignorance about my terminology. What I want to do is eliminate the travel of the trigger before and after the shot is fired. I have a Limited Pro and put a 100 rounds or so thru it and it has all of these things going on with the trigger. Other than that I am totally satisified, after I put some thin grips on it. Thanks for any help.
Skydiver
Yup it does have a pre-travel and over-travel screw adjustments. The pre-travel screw that comes with the gun from the factory isn't very precise, and the over-travel may not be long enough. Look for photog's posts about his Limited and how he replaced these screws: http://www.brianenos...1 Are you sure you are feeling trigger creep (i.e. front to back) and not wobble (i.e. side to side) ? Some (most?) of the Witnesses have triggers that wobble side to side. Some of the to the point that actually clear the trigger guard. I think Henning actually experienced an accident due to this wobble and (almost?) shot himself while holstering. If you are really picky about the trigger, swap in Henning's Flat Trigger System. http://henningshoots...ggersystem.html It now comes in short, medium, and long. With your Limited Pro, has a basic trigger job been done to polish the sides of the trigger bar, the top of the plunger, and the groove that plunger rides in? Sometimes there are burrs or rough spots. If a basic trigger job has been done, do a quick inspection of your sear where it catches the hammer hooks and make sure that you don't have what happened to me: http://www.brianenos...dpost&p=1075458 Edited April 3, 2011 by Skydiver
texarkana
Thanks Skydiver. Good info. I will check it all out.
texarkana
Another question for Skydiver.....Will the "Flat trigger" that Henning sells work in my Limited Pro? I thought I read where it only works in the SA only. And my Limited Pro is DA/SA. It would be nice if it would as my Limited Pro does not have any of the before or after screw adjustments. glefos
The flat trigger system is SA only.
Skydiver
The pre-travel screw isn't going to do you too much good for the DA/SA other than just take up the pre-travel for the DA mode. You'll still end up having the extra travel when you're in SA mode. The EAA Gold on the other hand, is SA only and should be compatible.
texarkana
Is it possible to buy the parts to make my Limited Pro SA only? I checked Hennings site and I did not see anything.
Skydiver
You'll need the SA Hammer. Or if you are planning a more extensive trigger job beyond the basic polishing, you may as well go with the EGW hammer, EGW Sear, and Sear pin. All of these parts are on this page. http://henningshoots...iggerparts.html Edited April 3, 2011 by Skydiver
Skydiver
I'm also going to assume that your plan is to shoot your Limited Pro in Limited or Open Divisions because converting to SA only will disqualify it for Production Division.
