mrwhite1
I have been debating whether I should get the whole M&P Apex competition package, or would the sear and striker be ok without the spring package? How much difference do these springs make?
Jay870
They lighten up the pull pretty significantly, but also soften the trigger return/reset a commensurate amount. I'm pretty indifferent about the springs to honest, whereas the sear & striker block were both very notable improvements over the stock parts in my gun. I guess my advice would be that they are cheap parts and will give you options and options are good.
98006
the comp kit will get you down to 3-3.5# from all the guns have tested. For me, all i did was get the sear and radiused the stock striker block and cut some off the block spring and it fixes the trigger nicely.
RH45
The comp. kit brought my 9mm Pro down to 36 oz.
Mustang684
I installed the whole kit, and it was well worth it. I had installed the hard sear and striker spring first, and was getting 4 lb 1 oz pulls. Adding the trigger spring dropped it to 2 lb 15 oz, though the reset feel softened up. Installing the USB completely eliminated the gritty trigger and dropped another oz.
moto727
You could probably try just cutting a coil or two. I didnt like the weaker trigger return spring so I went back to the stock one. I'd strongly suggest the ram.
lugnut
I just upgraded my Pro with almost all the Apex parts including the RAM. Only thing I didn't end up replacing was the trigger return spring. Sure it would lighten up the trigger more but the mushy trigger return is something I don't like. Something in between the stock one and the Apex trigger return spring would have been perfect. Very nice trigger now for sure. I'd strongly suggest the ram. I believe their trigger return spring is stronger! At least they say it is in their installation video. It seems to me that it is stronger as it's definately harder to put in.
Severian
I think it makes a pretty big difference. The spring weight is down. I also installed the RAM and that's HUGE on follow-up shots. I've been very pleased with the results.
