kamikaze1a
I have several barrels for my 1100 and want to get ONE multi-purpose barrel instead. I want a short 18-21" vented rib with Rem choke. I have a short RC barrel with rifle sights but prefer vented rib. Also have several with vented rib but full length. I have a bunch of Rem choke tubes so would want Rem choke installed but that seems to be a problem if I got the VR barrel shortened. The other option might be getting a rib or some similar type sights installed in place of the rifle sighted short barrel I have... Any experience with this? Or suggestions? Joe4d
My 1100 tac 4 has a 21" vent rib and rem chokes. Its the factory standard. I would think putting some kinda sights you like on your 18" would be cheaper than a new barrel
chainring
Find a smith who will cut it down at a vent rib leg and re-thread for Rem-Choke. I had an 18 inch 870 vent rib that had been cut and re-choked and a big fat brass bead installed. Worked and looked great! My Dad coveted it so much I let him buy it from me. kamikaze1a
I looked on rem.com earlier and the shortest w/vr was 26...how old is yours?
Dan Sierpina
The Remchoke barrels will have enough wall thickness to shorten and re Remchoke. Older fixed choke barrels are thinner and will need something like TruChokes. Here's a barrel that fits your search. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=837364
