Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 with LD-I reticle

There are several threads about the Swarovski Z6i, but I wanted to start a 'clean' one with some nice pictures from start

so other shooters can evaluate it.

So far I'm very happy, but I have only tried targets below 100 meter.

Small air gun targets at 85 meters, magnification at 6x.

I think you will love the Swarovski. The thing I like the most about mine is the 1st focal plane reticle so that the reticle doesn't change regardless of the level of magnification. I have the CD-I reticle and it is pretty nice, but would really prefer a mil dot or ballistic reticle.

Nice scope congratulations, the lighted reticle is quite functional, but how are you compensating for distance, 200-600 m?

I can only try at 85 meters at the moment. It sucks I know, but that's life until I find another range.

I presume with IPSC and what the ranges look like here the distance will be 300 m max.

The dot is very precise in real life, but it is very hard to capture with camera - I have tried it too.

In IPSC max range is 300 meters and targets pretty big - elevation correction is one of the smallest problems :) Better have less stuff in the FOV.

Thanks Hannu, you're one of the reason why I chose LD-I :D

Perhaps these pictures will give more input. The target is quite small.

You can see a normal IPSC target shield behind.

For some reason the NATO style ammo went left, and seemed immune to my adjustment (12 clicks)

Lower left is shot with Norma 55 gr hunting match and was more spot on.

IPSC rules do not force the maximum range shooting distance. It can be anything from zero -> infinity but basically at least here in Finland it's 300m.

I prefer that CD-I reticle because there is circle also and it's good for CQB stages.

The light is little bit dimmer than in LD-I reticle.
