Wanted
I was shooting some missouri 158gr LSWC this weekend. I'm using 4.0 gr of Win231 COL 1.459. Shooting out of a 2 1/4 Ruger, there seemed to be a lot of smoke. Gun? lube? powder? All of the above?
superdude
it's the cast bullets, thought to be due to the lube. while some powders might smoke more than others, their effect on smoke is negligible compared to the lube of the cast bullets. perrysho
SMOKE !! To lil powder, to big bullet makes dirt & Smoke. To hot/fast burn powder and lead bullets - Smoke. Any powder and lead cast with lube rings make - um Smoke. Buy $3000 or $4000 pistol, try to save money on bullets make-um Smoke, also good Smoke Screen Story to tell wife how much money you saved. Heavy BS that I cannot siffer. LOL Be SAFE, Perry
toddrod
It is mainly the lube and somewhat the powder. For powders, try one that is single based (Solo 1000 or V.V. are some)and if you can find a bullet manufacture that uses White Label Lube Carnuba Red lube you will be on your way to reducing your smoke levels. gohuskers
Yep I agree with everyone else - carnuba red and a single based powder - VV, Solo 1000, my buddy has really good luck with WST, negligible smoke.
