Match Rules have been posted. Please read them as there are some differences from other matches. We have tried to develop a set of rules that will be fun, fair and provide for an exciting match. Please feel free to PM me with questions.

Doug,

John Williams here one rule I'd like to see the 170mm pistol mag max length in open division reconsidered, it says "anything goes" I have 3 32 round mags for my Beretta 92 FS and I've not been able to use them for much of anything. I'm planning on picking up at least 2 mags that will meet the < 170mm requirement. If you allow them in open division it would save me a few buck if not that's okay.

Ok, I've been firmly admonished via PM, so what the heck, Open is Open so bring it if you have it, I'll change the rule tonight and you all can shoot anything you can carry.

See how easy that is when you write your own rules!

Revised rules are posted at www.nwmultigun.com. Changes: no pistol mag length limit in Open; penalty changed for improper abandonment condition from stage zero to 30 second penalty.

If you have other reasonable changes that you would like to see feel free to PM me.

For those of you with a manually operated rifle, bolt gun etc., I've decided to run a MOR rifle match concurent with the regular match. 5 stages will be picked out and have a modified course of fire for the MOR rifles, probably all three of the long range stages and 2 other stages. If you are shooting the MOR match you will shoot the stage with your regular guns and then shoot the modified stage with your bolt gun. We are limiting the squads to 10 people so this should not slow the match down. The MOR match will be scored seperately and have its own trophy and maybe even a small cash prize. So bring out your old hunting rifle or what ever (no magnum guns please its rough on the steel) and have some fun. I'm going to shoot my Rem 700 in .308 with BAS (big ass scope).

Also posted some small changes to the scoring rules on the website. Match is over half full, get your apps in if you want to shoot!

Here are the rules I've posted for the Manually Operated Rifle side match. Comments are welcomed.

Doug

5.6 MANUALLY OPERATED RIFLE – Side Match

5.6.1 Manually Operated Rifles used in the side match can be of any configuration as long as they do not reload themselves automatically. Bolt, pump and lever action guns are acceptable and any autoloading gun that has the autoloading feature disabled, such as an AR-15 with the gas shut off, so that it must be cycled by hand to load fresh ammunition.

5.6.2 There is no minimum caliber but magnum rifles are prohibited.

5.6.3 There are no optic restrictions. Guns may have multiple optics and/or iron sights.

5.6.4 Supporting devices (bipods, etc.) are permitted, and may begin any stage folded or deployed at the participant’s discretion. No porcupines or other devices that could damage props.

5.6.5 Regular match stages with modified stage instructions will be used for the MOR match. Only rifle targets will be used and there will not be any shotgun or pistol transitions. Shooters must follow the modified stage instructions and all scoring and penalties will be in accordance with Section 6 – Scoring.

Let me catch up since I have been on the road for a while shooting and ROing. Man the Iron-Man was great.

Big thank you to the following Sponsors:

Match Sponsor: Robert Wright of RandRTargets.com for all his help and contributions

Warne Scope Mounts http://www.warnescopemounts.com

Leupold http://www.leupold.com/

Falcon Industries http://www.ergogrips.net/

RepconNW http://www.repconnw.com/

Next Generations Arms http://www.nextgenerationarms.com/

Brownells http://www.brownells.com/

Timney Triggers http://timneytriggers.com/

Stag Arms http://www.stagarms.com/

STI International http://www.stiguns.com/

SOG Knives http://sogknives.com/

Dewey MFG Co.

I will be adding those that come forward as they do...God bless them! I hate asking for donations but sponsors don't make me feel like a street hobo looking for handouts. There is not one sponsor that is here that I don't believe in! I use all these products myself so I can vouch for their products!

Getting close, the MGM was just a warm-up:-)

Shoot fast, straight and safe but most of all....SHOOT!

RLTW,

Scott

All stages are up on the website except the Crimson Trace Dark House which will not be posted. Round Count: Rifle - 160, Shot - 104, Pistol - 108, Slug - 9, Shooter's Choice - 10, Total Rounds - 391. Round count is bases on shooting 2 shots on each paper with no misses!

JP Enterprises is now on board as a sponsor.

There are still a few slots left, if you want to shoot the only 3 gun match out west in July this is it! Got some cool looking t-shirts and we have decided to give them out to all shooters, no extra charge.

SLINGS! - Just to let people know, you will need a rifle sling at this match. Some people want to know what kind of sling. Any kind as long as it keeps your gun from falling in the dirt.

It's not to late to throw in a double spinner on a stage or two.

There are a bunch of hotels/motels in the Albany area. I normally stay at the Quality Inn, pretty cheap but they have breakfast and nice rooms. http://www.qualityinn.com/ires/en-US/html/CitySearch?placetype=city&placename=albany&state_country=ORUS&chain=Q&source=gqoh32

Doug

I stayed at the Quality Inn last night for the Area 1 pistol championships. It's nice enough, but there was an uncivilized horde of yelling middle-school-aged girls racing up and down the halls several times before they gave up about 11 p.m.

I suspect that the presence of an indoor swimming pool attracts such unhousebroken riff-raff. I wish I had stayed at the EconoLodge where there's no pool and no halls.

Scott,

I've got my app filled out but need to know if we can park travel trailers in the field? It's 28ft

I haven't seen a reply to this, but there were a few rigs in the field this past weekend at the Area 1 pistol match.
