Puma
I need recommendations as to what, where and who when it comes to lightening the slide of my new competition STI Eagle 6' 40 caliber. Pictures would be awsome. I want to be cautious as to not have cracks develop etc. Basic instructions for dummies #101 will not insult me rather all information will be greatly appreciated.Look forward to reading all responses............ G-ManBart
Lots of threads on this...pictures, suggested gunsmiths, etc. I didn't see him mentioned, but Bobby at FGW has been posting some pretty neat slide lightening work in his vendor's forum. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=111238&view=findpost&p=1262758 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97433&view=findpost&p=1113355 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=66937&view=findpost&p=776510 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=70371&view=findpost&p=814281 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60967&view=findpost&p=708394 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52645&view=findpost&p=605667 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45859&view=findpost&p=524468 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18835&view=findpost&p=221318 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7118&view=findpost&p=84115 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7146&view=findpost&p=84390 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5282&view=findpost&p=65984

z40acp
I think tri-topping the slide takes a lot of weight off without putting holes in.
EkuJustice
My slide is just getting finished up by bobby at freedom as we speak. It is the 6inch slide in his forum with my SN as the title. It is tri-topped(now possible with the new sight he has), hipower cut in the front to remove the forward serrations and gills. On the cuts, rounded edges and no sharp corners help prevent cracks http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=122516 Edited February 12, 2011 by EkuJustice

818-DVC
Cheely gunworks. He's in the vendors section and he turns stock 6" slides into functional art. Quick n reasonable too.
