spook
I might as well post this in the "What I Hate" forum, but I thought it would be more effective to post it here. I'm looking for a 3,5lbs connector for my new G17. I want to trick it out for IPSC production (if that's possible at all ) I thought I'd try the 3.5lbs connector and the NY trigger spring to get a revolverlike 5+lbs trigger. So, I went online to shop for some connectors. My first question is: Why is it that 5lbs & 8lbs connectors are $4 and 3.5lbs connectors are $25!!??!? Question number 2: does anyone know of a place that has a good price on 3.5lbs. connectors (stock, they have to be IPSC legal)? Thanks
Rob Boudrie
My first question is: Why is it that 5lbs & 8lbs connectors are $4 and 3.5lbs connectors are $25!!??!? Because Glock sells the 5 and 8lb connectors to their armorers and resellers for a very reasonable price (under the $4.00 you mention), but will not sell the 3lb connectors separately - replacement only when a gun sold with the "target only" connector is sent in for service. That leaves two sources for 3lb connectors for Glocks not originally supplies with them - "unofficial" importers of Glock products, or custom shops dealing in small volumes (and which make their living off parts, rather than selling them cheap to support their gun business). If any of this really bothers you, you can probably corner the US market on 3lb connectors if you can figure out a way to manufacture and sell them for $4.00 each. spook
Thanks for the ultra fast reply Rob Because Glock [...] will not sell the 3lb connectors separately - replacement only when a gun sold with the "target only" connector is sent in for service. This doesn't make very much sense to me. Glock offers their model 17 with a 3.5lbs connector for LE/military purposes too (in Europe). If any of this really bothers you, you can probably corner the US market on 3lb connectors if you can figure out a way to manufacture and sell them for $4.00 each. Well, I thought Glock might do this, since they have proven that they can produce connectors for $4 a piece I just don't like the fact that a product is more expensive because it is desired by people who will pay for it, and not because it is more valuable/costly to produce objectively. rtr
There's a guy over on Glocktalk that sells them for $13, I've bought a few from him, he's legit, that's the lowest price I could find. So go over there and search around, he's in Florida I believe, user name is something like 552jwk

chp5
Spook - see this thread. For $25 you can get a polished and tuned 3.5 lbs connector from CGR. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11865
spook
Thanks Charlie, too bad CGR doesn't ship overseas I see Dawson sells them for 15.99 stock.
ErikW
spook, want me to pick one up from CGR (assuming he's at the SMM3G match) and ship it to you?
Custom Glock Racing
I wont be at SMM3G but I can probably send a connector out there with someone if you want one. Stock 3.5s are $15 Pro Tuned are $25. They cost more because we cannot buy them from Glock. I have to get them from Europe at a much higher unit cost and increased shipping vs buying them from Glock USA.
spook
Wow, thanks for the offer Eric! I appreciate it. Well, Matt's post proves my theory (thanks for the offer of overseas shipping, Matt ) that 3.5lbc connectors are not sold seperately only in the US. So I think I'll first check where I can get a 3.5lbs connector here in Eurotrash territory. The internet makes it so easy to do business with US online stores, that I sometimes forget that I can get stuff on my own continent too. When and if I find something, I'll check back. Thanks again guys

So if you are fortunate enough to own a house in a market which appreciates rapidly and you're moving to another part of the country, will you be offering your house for sale at a reasonable markup based on your cost, or will you be raising the price becuase it is desired by people willing to pay for it.
