Jack Suber
Does anyone know how heavy the "heavy" Ice magwells are? I was told that they are made of brass and hard-chromed. Just curious. I have been using an Ice and love it. But I would like a little more weight at the end of the pistol. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. RodneyLtd
If I remember the one on my old limited pistol weighed around 3-3.5 ounces.
diehli
The one I sold recently weighed in at slightly less than 4.2 oz.
Jack Suber
I received a new Heavy Ice Tuesday and went to the range to play with it yesterday. I like the balance it gives to the gun. I have not weighed it yet, but it feels lighter than and STI stainless magwell. I am shooting 165s in a 40 so this little weight seems to balance the gun well. A friend let me try his Grams tungsten magwell and that was way too heavy for me (9 ounces I think). I also tried the 6 ounce Grams and found that too heavy as well. The Grams are smaller compared to the Ice and I had a tendency to miss reloads with them. It think this Heavy Ice is just the right weight. I'll try it in match conditions Saturday. Thanks for the feedback.
