Dan Burwell
I figured Erik could answer this question easily. I have a wilson sight, which direction should the hinge pin be drifted out? I am going to serrate the blade then refinish the entire sight with black gun Kote(teflon). Thanks, Dan
EricW
If I recall correctly, the pin is driven *toward* the ejection port, and install in the opposite fashion.

ErikW
No, I never managed to have a Wilson long enough to break the hinge pin; I just broke the sight's top body in half. I don't recall whether the Wilson has a center pin tensioning against the hinge pin; if it does, you want to make sure you've got a slave in there when removing and replacing the hinge pin. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't just about every pin and dovetail sight on a 1911/2011 go in R-L and out L-R?
Dan Burwell
The out towards the ejection port worked. Slave pin was needed. Dovetail sights all in R-L and out L-R but all the pins go in opposite. I didn't want to assume anything, considering it was a sight with a pin.
