Colored SV triggers w/inserts

So Im thinking about picking up a new colored SVI trigger with a short flat insert. Thinking a black trigger with other black accents may look good on a hard chrome'd gun. anyway, the last one i installed in my current gun took a good deal of filing to fit it. wasnt a big deal being a silver trigger, but im wondering what would happen if its black. If i would need to file anything off the side, would it take away the black finish rather quickly? just trying to figure out what color trigger and insert i waant to get.

The black will be gone immediately if you put a stone/file to it. I haven't had to do any of the newest versions, but I think the part you cut down will be visible....I've gone with silver on the last four guns. R,

Tried a Red one.......... Now I'm using Silver for all the guns I build. Once there fit, I give them a quick pass through the Bead blaster.

i may get it fitted up nicely then maybe give it a paint job to see how it looks. we'll see

Hmm, I have fit 2 black ones and Matt Cheely fit a black one on my open gun and the part that was cut down does not show at all. It was cut for the height and not for the width.

Those must have been the previous version. The newest version has a base (not sure what they call it) that is wider than it was previously, so you have to make it more narrow to fit an STI frame. The inserts haven't changed. R,
