Pinkerton
It's had alot of use but is this usual? I ordered a new motor but I hope then next one lasts longer! Pinkerton OUT!
EricW
I'm not going to say you didn't have a bad motor, but one thing to check is for low voltage on your AC source - especially if you have other large loads running on the same circuit - like a furnace, refrigerator, or air conditioner. (Low voltage could even be due to *someone else* near you running large loads.) What happens is that as the voltage goes down, the current load goes up to compensate - heating up your motor and eventually burning it out. Poor air circulation around the motor could be another reason. Make sure your vents are uncovered/unplugged.
Pinkerton
Thanks, The vents had dust and the plug is dedicated to the bench. So I think I'm OK there but I'll keep an eye on running the tumbler, trimmer and case feeder at the same time. Pinkerton OUT!
EricW
Unless you have really lousy wiring, running those items simultaneously is not an issue. My small Dillon tumbler only uses 25 watts, the big one can't be over 75/100 watts max. So, we're talking about a couple light bulbs worth of juice if all your reloading gear is on - no biggie. What drags down your line voltage is *large* loads, i.e. heating and big motors.
Pinkerton
Nothing like that. Just the two plugs above the bench and then straight to the breaker. I guess it was just time. I'm still sold on Dillon though!! Thanks, Pinkerton OUT!
