THE DIFFERENCE

The .45 10 round mags I have cannot be modified to take more than 10 rounds. I have 10 rounders from 3 different mfgs. That being said, I use them for stages where you only need to shoot 6 and reload etc.

Here's a standard capacity.

Here's a high capacity. Note the difference in the grip area "buldge". Para makes normal 1911's like everyone else, AND a high cap version. You need a new frame to get the high capacity.

Thanks but I understand that part. I was curious as to their Hi Cap models that they sell to States that will not allow hi-cap pistols.

They offer the P14 and the P16 in two configurations. 10 round and 14 or 16 rounds depending on the gun.

I just wanted to know if they altered the pistol frame in any way so that it would not accept a 14 round mag

versus the 10 round mag.

thanks

The ONLY diffence is the model number. A 10 round gun model will be something like this S1649SR,(S for single action Limited, 16 for standard round mags, 40 for .40S&W, S for stainless frame) the R in the part number and serial both mean RESTRICTED and can be sold in a state that restricts the number of rounds the magizine hold. Without the R then it can not be sold in restricted states. The R guns come with 10 round mags and standard non R guns come with 16 round mags. A R gun can use 16 round mags, and with Dawson basepads it will hold 20+1. There is no difference in the gun, only how it is tracked.
