JCB
Hi Just got my gun back from the gunsmith. Changed to flat trigger system, egw sear/hammer and Henning pins, plunger... full trigger job. The pre travel is almost not there and short travel, just enough to reset. Worked flawlessly when testen and loved it. One friend though made a comment, a thing he was unsure about. If you pull the trigger all the way inn, pull the hammer back while trigger still inn, and let it go forward, you feel the sear snag a little on the hammer. Like the sear is not clearing high enuff. You dont feel it with normal use. But he comented that he thought the sear where to clear the hammer. That that the lack of this would wear the hammer/sear more than needed. But I have no background, knowhow or experience to know. But I do know I love the feel of the trigger. Is it like a thing you got to just have, for short trigger travel, you will have a little of rubbing...? Best regards Jostein

Tanfogliofan
If you think of it, how often does your trigger mechanism operate like that? Anser, never. You break the trigger and the gun goes to reset. The sear lands back down on the hammer and it's ready to go again. In tight tolerences you'll find a little contact especially just after the trigger job. If you like how it breaks now, run it and let it break in a bit. If it really bothers you, adjust the travel out a bit after the break. This will allow the sear to clear more. Either way it's not going to hurt much. JCB
I was affraid that if not clearing it would wear out the sear really quick. But my gunsmith said that with the sear not clearing totally I would get a shorter trigger, but also had to change in around 20-30.000 shoots. So I will try to shoot with both settings and see. If it makes a big differense, I´ll just settle for changing one or two times a year if needed.
Jeff686
On Henning's advice, I dialed my overtravel up enough to eliminate this interference. Edited December 1, 2010 by Jeff686
