ParaGunner
I have been looking for some 170mm mags for a Para and someone said SPS makes them. I have never heard of them. Anyone have a link or info? THANKS
Sarge
https://www.sps-dc.c...=38&language=en I guess they are European? Edited November 11, 2010 by Sarge

818-DVC
Isnt SPS an STI mag for Europe? I prefer SV tubes over everything. They cost a little more, but I have fewer mag related issues with SV tubes than all my STI, rescomp & STS tubes. ParaGunner
I don't know if SV tubes will work in a Para. That could be a expensive experiment.
818-DVC
STI & SV tubes work in para P-16's with mag catch mods, or you can buy STI para tubes http://www.brownells.com/1/3/p16-only-sti-fits-sti-standard-and-140mm-tubes-magazine-accessories Edited November 11, 2010 by 818-DVC

BlueVFRank
I've been running my SPS mags for three years know without any problem. No expensive tuning required and verry reliable. In this three years the only thing that I have replaced is a follower which cracked (but still worked). The prices in Europe for an STI or SVI mag are a bit over the top. We pay over a 100 USD for only the tube! To bad the Mag wizards in the US usually work on 140mm mags inistead of the IPSC box 123 mm Frank
CocoBolo
Anyone else with info on the SPS mags? Are the worth getting? I have one it don't work with my 9 major I'll trade it to you for a 170 STI or SV, I don't use it with my 38S because it only holds 27 rounds. Like the SV it was a fat boy and had to be sized down to drop free from the gun, it holds 1 less round than the sti with the same base pad. My smith uses them with his 38S but for $5.00 more I'd buy the STI. The SPS I got from my smith, $80, but then I had to spend another $20 getting it fixed to fall free, plus the grams guts and the basepad, so for $90 from Brazos a STI mag with guts and a bottom is a better deal. larry cazes
I tried one for my STI framed open gun and the steel appeared to be softer than the rest. I had to constantly tune the feed lips to keep it running reliably. That was 2+ years ago so I dont know if that has changed.

Material is very soft, after few time you must to do tuning. Many malufunctions with gun when you have SPS inside,I friendly recomended dont bye. When you want to tune STI or SVI you must to have hummer becouse material is so hard, for SPS you dont need hummer only caliper and finger Edited November 13, 2010 by ZeljkoLucic

SPS website says the 170mm holds 29 straight from the factory You must have missed the fine print, it holds 27 with a Bolens or Grams follower, you can get 29 with a 4 mm grams base pad. I got it to work, just needed to hammer on it a bit and take a file to the feed lips and smooth them up.
