FNilo
Hello all. I have been a member on this site since Nov. 2007 (that's when I bought my 550. Thanks Brian!). I have been reading posts pretty much every day but never posted anything. Three years has to be some kind of record! The main reason I have never posted is because I don't have anything to contribute since I have never done any USPSA type shooting. The club I used to belong to (I gave up my membership for other reasons) only offered bullseye and PPC which I did do for a couple of years. I have been wanting to join a new club which offers USPSA shooting (there are a couple my the area) but for some reason haven't jumped in. I have read countless hours of posts that I feel that I kind of know all of you. As many have said, there is a wealth of information here and I would like to thank all of you for the knowledge I have gained! I guess it is time to jump in. Even though the weather is turning cold around here, is the water still warm? Thanks again!
cyburg
You do not have to be a member of a club to have fun. Due to my schedule and so on I just go and shoot. Nothing wrong with just hanging out either. Find the local matches and have a good time...
Pat Miles
Is there a record for lurking? How would anybody know? If you are uncomfortable with shooting a USPSA match, don't be. Everybody here started shooting matches at some time. We've all been there. Go out to a match and watch. Introduce yourself . You will probably be amazed at the help you get in understanding the sport. Pay very close attention to the safety aspect of the sport. Become familiar with the RO's range commands. All of this will help you become more comfortable when you shoot your first match. In your spare time (yeah I know, spare time is between 2:30 and 3:00 am) become familiar with the rule book which is available on the USPSA website. It helps immensely to know what you can't do as well as what you CAN do at a match. Questions regarding rules? Here we are. Ask away. Whatever you do, be safe and have fun! Welcome aboard! Jman
Welcome and yes, it sure is. Please join the USPSA if you haven't yet. The game may or may not appeal to you ultimately but many here, myself included, are drawn to it because it provides a record of results. Small, achievable goals that you can measure. It is VERY fun and that should be the most important goal of all. Enjoy the journey! Jim
