9146gt
I am shooting a L Frame Smith with .38 special and Federal SP primers.Commercial reloads with Federal SP primers work 100% with the primers seated - .006" (6lb trigger pull).I get some light strikes even using a RCBS hand priming tool(flush to -.002").How do I get primers seated -.006"? #1 Deprime and clean pockets by hand #2 Deprime and then tumble #3 will a 1050 let me adjust the primer depth? Tom I had the misfortune of buying an RCBS hand priming tool recently....can't stand it. I like to work up new loads on my turret press, and have mostly used a Lee Hand Prime, but after many years, the lever broke. I could seat primers deeper with the Lee than I can with the RCBS, which appears to have been made almost completely backwards, in every respect. Yes, a 1050 will let you adjust primer depth. It has an allen screw that you adjust up or down and that determines how far the primer punch moves. R,
Action Pistolero
Tom, As much as you shoot you would be better off with a 1050. The only other option would be a priming tool that seats primers as the shellholder goes up. I believe LEE makes one.
