thl
I've shot some 3 gun but never a USPSA multi-gun match and couldn't find a definitive answer to several questions. For open shotgun maximum number of rounds in magazine is 10. I have an R&R Saiga (with R&R magwell) and only have 12 round SGM mags set up for it. I assume I can download to 10 rounds (ie the maximum capacity can be more than 10 as long as only 10 in it) Second, is scoring based individually on power factor of pistol and rifle or if you are shooting minor rifle is pistol also scored minor automatically? Your power factors are scored separately for rifle and pistol. You can shoot minor rifle with major pistol.

You can start with 11 total in the shotgun then load 10 in the rest of your mags. The new ezwinscore accounts for the different power factors in each gun. Actually, USPSA Open shotgun rules say something to the effect of there can be no more than 11 rounds in the gun at any one time. (barring empty chamber starts or empty starts) Same with the non-Open divisions, except the max number is 9 rounds. This pretty much means you can have mags (tube or box) that are capable of holding more than the max number (10 or 8), but you may not have more than the max number in at any one time. So, to answer your Saiga question, yes, you may use 12 round mags downloaded to 10. jj

Neither talks about maximum capacity of magazines, only number of rounds loaded. Doug Edited November 7, 2010 by Doug H.
