carbon9
I am looking for a lightweight extended(15" or so)handguard for an optic based rifle. Does anybody have actual hands on experience with the American Defense MFG or the Loki Weapons Systems? Pros and cons, please. Both seem good on paper but how about real experience? I already have an extended Sun Devil and a 15" JP on other rifles. I'm sure I will get a Firebird as well when they are back in stock. I like the idea of carbon fiber but it doesn't seem to save much weight and can splinter. Does anybody want to make me one out of Magnesium along with a Lower Receiver out of Magnesium? Magnesium does not ignite as easily as everybody likes to think, it naturally resists denting at about half the weight of Aluminum and machines easier then Aluminum. Corrosion is its biggest downfall but Ionbond or Black T/Birdsong should take care of that. Wishful thinking on my part, sorry to thread drift from the beginning. Back to the Loki or ADM. Thank you.
