..2 MOA Rail Mount

Need to replace my current mount/ring set up on my Rem 700 - 300 SAUM. This is NOT a tactical/target rifle, but a hunting rifle. My current mount system for the Leupold 3-10x50 is a mixture of parts that are acceptable. Goal being for something more rugged and aethetcally pleasing. I am about to order one og those aluminum section of picatiny rails from Dillon and was wondering if the .2 MOA is needed? These are the same price, but I guess i was wondering if there is any drawbacks to going ahead and putting this on? I am not a long range shooter (typically) so I just don't know? THANKS!

It will raise the rear of the scope a touch so your cheek weld might change a bit.

Seekins precision and egw both make a good rail.

Are you sure you don't mean 20 MOA? The 20 MOA raises the scope and changes the angle a bit. It's required for shooting at distance to keep you from running your scope out of adjustment. The down side, is that you will probably need a cheek pad to raise your head a little.

most picatinny rails are higher than a weaver mt. as they have a bigger ledge. Picatinny rings clamp further over the rail than a weaver thus the higher rail provide for clearance. Why don't you get a good set of one piece Talleys?
