para p14 serrations

Hey guys, is it possible to weld up the serrations on the frontstrap of a para and then checker it to maybe a 25 or 30 lpi? Well I know it is possible but how hard would it be?

Sounds like a big job to weld -file- sand- checker. What about milling the serrations flat then checker it?

You realize that if you only do half of the checkering process, you wind up with serrations, right? Read as: you're halfway there, get a 'smith to do serrations in the other direction and, voilà, checkering.

Checkering a Para frame can be troublesome. Reason for this;

Yes it can be done, I've done it, but it can be time consuming with the cast frame being as porous as they can be. The cast in serrations are not really a good starting place for decent checkering. The EGW checkering insert is by far the best option for a Para, you get perfect checkering and a nice radius on the front strap.
