Broken laptop hinge

My daughter dropped her laptop( Compaq persario cq50 ) and must have broken the hinge to the screen. Where would you find parts to fix it. How hard is it to change it.

From the hardware vendor. HP/Compaq will either insist you send them the box so they can fix it themselves, or you can download the hardware service manual (if available) and order replacement parts from them. The service manual (at least for Dells) shows you specific disassemble/re-assemble instructions for various components.
