fuzzysights
I have recently moved to Washington state I visited a local gunstore to see about their receiving a transfer of a firearm from an FFL in another state. (of course it was an item from BE forum) The store told me that they would have to charge me WA sales tax. Is that correct? I am buying it from a private party and have never paid tax before in two previous states. Assistance from any Washingtonians is appreciated. RickB
True dat. The law has actually been on the books for years, but only recently have FFLs been required to act as uncompensated state employees, and collect the tax.

fuzzysights
Thank you for the information. Sorry to be so long replying, a lot of travelling for work lately. I can completely understand collecting sales on new items shipped in via internet sales to keep local retailers on equal footing, but taxing a private citizen to private citizen sale definitely seems unconstitutional to me!!!
