olp73
I am would like to smooth up the action of my Tanfoglio open gun and have tried to polish a bit here and there. It sure has helped, but it is still not good enough. This is a well built custom gun and it is still pretty tight after just some hundred rounds. I am sure there are some sweet spots that needs extra attention and if someone with a little more experience than me could tell me where and how I would be grateful. I have found two things till now: The kidney, is it supposed to sit tight in the frame or have play? Is it a point to polishing this aria? The second spot is where the fire pin stop meets the slide. This joint seems to make the hammer hinder the slide on its way back and forth. I have tied to shorten the fire pin stop a little but there is still too much friction. Mo Hepworth
Try some slide glide lite,..I ran the slide rails on a flat piece of oiled 1200grit a couple of passes. Does not hurt or effect accuracy.
