Cy Soto Posted July 2, 2010 Share Posted July 2, 2010 I was talking with a friend recently and he was telling me that he has a tight-chambered barrel that he would like to open up a bit. I think that the depth of the chamber was fine so his only issue had to do with the inside diameter of the barrel. He's going to be taking it to a gunsmith but I am still curious; what type of tool(s) is(are) used to accomplish this? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chris Keen Posted July 2, 2010 Share Posted July 2, 2010 A good chamber reamer (Clymer) will put a barrel back to SAMMI specs, and clean up any rough surfaces, or unnecessary plating (chrome, TiN, or baked-on finishes) that happens to be in the chamber.
