Steve J
Will a Para fit in the box ? Brent Yes, but so will a Glock. The box and weight are limiting factors for 1911s not non-1911s. Non-1911s are excluded from the division by definition.

open17
SO---How about a Star model B? It's a single stack 9mm, and it sure as heck has it's "basis" in JMB's 1911. It's pretty much a scaled down 9mm copy. Legal in Single Stack? Nope. Stars are not a 1911. A 1911 starts with a slide and frame that JMB designed. AHHH---But the rulz say it must have it's basis (as in "based on") the JMB 1911. From some website--it must be true, I saw it on the internet. "The whole family of the "Star" pistol was (and still is) manufactured by the Spain-based company Bonifacio Echeverria, SA. Back in the 1920s the company began to develop semi-automatic pistols, based on Browning-designed Colt M1911 design. These pistols were more or less similar to the original M1911, but usually chambered for 9x19mm Luger or 9x23mm Largo (Bergmann-Bayard) rounds." Now--if you want to take the hard line that if JMB didn't design it, it ain't a 1911, what are you going to do about external extractors and series 80 firing pin blocks? Steve J
This is getting old. IF you can take a Star and swap its frame and slide with a frame and slide from a GI M1911 A1, then and only then is it based on a 1911. You can not; therefore, it is not a 1911. But, please take whatever pistol you want and enter SS Division with it. Good luck with it in Open, because that's where you'll be.

I figured its to wide to fit. Brent
