srrch
I went to the range today to test out some new loads. I basically loaded the for two different bullet types MG's and Precisions. I thought that I'd post the data. Common characteristics for both bullet types Firearm: Smith & Wesson M&P Pro 9mm, Stock barrel. Primer: Winchester small pistol standard Cases: mixed Caliber 9mm Powder: 3.5 gr VV N320. C.O.L; 1.110 to 1.115 Montanna Gold Bullets 147gr CMJ 12 shot string High 898 Low 858 Extreme spread 40 Average 875 Standard deviation 12 Power Factor with stated weight of 147 gr = 128.6 Power Factor with actual average weight of 147.1 = 128.7 I excluded a low velocity round that registered 825 fps on my chrono Precision Bullet Polymer Coated 10 shot string High 963 Low 944 Extreme spread 19 Average 954 Standard Deviation 6 Power Factor with actual weight of 148.2 gr = 141.3 Power Factor with stated weight of 147 gr = 140.
blkbrd
Welcome to the forum. Temperature, where are you located? Good info shows the extreme spread between the bullet that takes the most powder to make PF MTG, and the least. Was there a noticeable feel between the two? Next some accuracy testing. How much smoke did you get off the Precision's with 320? I want to try some Solo with the Precision 147.

I was suprised about the difference in velocity. I didn't know it would be that significant. The temperature at the time of testing was between 65 and 70 degrees
Chris Spiess
I went to the range today to test out some new loads. I basically loaded the for two different bullet types MG's and Precisions. I thought that I'd post the data. Montana Gold Bullets 147gr CMJ Power Factor with stated weight of 147 gr = 128.6 Power Factor with actual average weight of 147.1 = 128.7 Precision Bullet Polymer Coated Power Factor with actual weight of 148.2 gr = 141.3 Power Factor with stated weight of 147 gr = 140.2 A long while back I did some 9mm testing to compare the Precisions with various jacketed and plated bullets and had basically the same results - higher velocity with the Precisions, all other factors equal. If i can dig the data back up, i'll post it here. For a long while now Precisions are what I shoot almost exclusively and am very pleased with them. I just finished a single stack 9mm sans a fully ramped barrel for my son that won't feed the Precision flat points, but that's hardly the bullet's fault. I was pretty disappointed, I now have to stock something round nosed for that that gun. I want to try some Solo with the Precision 147. I'm using Solo 1000 with precisions in 9mm, .40 and .45 without an objectionable amount of smoke. I tried VV320 with the Precisions a while back and didn't really notice much difference in the amount of smoke between it and Solo 1000. Now, TiteGroup, don't go there, it's awful. srrch
Did some accuracy tests at the range tonight. At 25 yards benched, I got 3.5 inch group from the MG's and a 4.5 inch group from the Precisions. I'm not impressed with the accuracy at all. I've been reading about this on other posts. I may be in the market for a fitted after market barrel.
