GaryXD
I want to put black rear sights on several M&P pistols. I don't want to spend a lot of time fitting the sights to the slide. So my question is, which brands require a lot of fitting and which brands are "drop-ins"?

DougCarden
I prefer Bomars for sight pictures, so I use the Burwell rear sight. It does need a little fitting, but that is ok. I would rather it be snug than move easily! I can't comment on others, because that is all I use! DougC

sperman
The Dawson also requires a little fitting, but not much.
markm87
I want to put black rear sights on several M&P pistols. I've been wondering about this myself. My front white dot sight gets dirty after about 20-30 rounds and the rear dots are really bright white... pretty much the opposite of what you'd want. Filishooter
Warren Sevigney and Tactical both required some fitting.
Fishin6061
A snug fitting rear sight would actually be a plus IMO.
ck1
Ameriglo makes what you're looking for here: http://ameriglo.net/catalog/sights/pistol-sights/smith-wesson/black-sights/rear-sights I had a couple of them on my M&P's and they were great, I left on the stock fronts and ended up with a real good set-up. Use coupon code "defoor" at checkout and it's less 25%.

stewj
Black sight paint is the easiest... Does the Burwell work with the compact 9mm factory front sight? Will it change the POI?
Dan Burwell
Does the Burwell work with the compact 9mm factory front sight? Will it change the POI? Yes it will work with all M&P front sights except for the PRO. The Pro uses taller front and rear sights.
