Cy Soto
Hello Folks, A friend of mine is trying to find out if there is anyone making a custom front sight for a Springfield XD. He is thinking of installing a Warren/Sevigny rear sight but they don't yet make a front sight for this particular model. He would like to get a 0.115" to 0.120" (width) plain black front with the necessary height to make POA/POI at 20yds with his 125gr load. The OEM sight set hits approximately 5" high with his load (3.5gr of Clays behind a 125gr LRN bullet). Someone suggested that he purchased a Dawson front sight to match it with the Warren/Sevigny rear but I think they only produce fiber optic sight and he would much rather have a plain black front sight. Thanks, Cy

Stony Lane
I'd try Rich at Canyon Creek. All my XD sights are black serrated and about 2mm (.080) wide for use with a Bomar-type rear sight. http://www.canyoncreekcustom.com/
Loves2Shoot
You can keep it simple buy getting a .100 (or .125 and trim it .005 won't make a real difference) X .285 or .300 and cutting it to height, the FO will be well above the height you are looking for so you will have a solid FS of the right size.
