  1. So... got a bunch of stuff from Ben Stoeger for my new Stock 2. Amongst which was a 9# wolff recoil spring. Got the standard full slide version. And when this recoil spring is in the gun the rounds won't go into battery. Slide just won't close completely. Switch back to the stock spring and closes up just fine. It's like 2 or 3 coils longer than the stock spring and my understanding is it's SUPPOSED to be that way(?). I'm tempted to cut it tho and see if that fixes the problem. Should I snip snip or try to send it back to Ben?
  2. For a 9mm 4.25in commander I'm looking to get it shooting as smooth as possible. I already got a Harrison FPS. Now I'm looking at recoil springs. There are a bewildering number of recoil springs which all claim to somehow reduce the felt recoil (I'm assuming by extending the impulse) while not increasing front sight dip when the slide returns. These include:- Nighthawk/Bob Marvel Everlast recoil system- DPM triple spring recoil reduction system- Sprinco Recoil Reducer- EFK dual action spring- Wolff Variable power springs- STI RecoilmasterDo any of these (or any other system or setup) actually keep the gun flatter during recoil? Do any of the variable rate, or multiple spring setups actually help slow the slide when moving reward, but then don't slam the slide home with the same force?Lastly, what would folks recommend for the setup mentioned above? I also have this same thread going on 1911forum with some interesting responses here: https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?p=11229570&posted=1Thanks!
  3. Title pretty much says it. I just got a Tanfo Stock II and was installing the Wolff 13lb hammer spring from my Witness upgrade kit. However after a long day I had a lapse of focus and mixed up the stock hammer spring and new Wolff hammer spring so I'm not sure which one I installed/replaced. I do know that one I put in the gun with the other upgrades is longer than the other. I tried squeezing each of the springs and the longer one felt lighter i think. Gun functions perfectly. The DA pull "i think" feels lighter however it's not substantially lighter so I cant say for sure especially after mixing up the springs. Anyway can anybody help me or know their hammer springs? Any help is appreciated. I will be installing a new sear, hammer, and BOLO soon so I will have to disassemble the gun again at some point.

Longer spring is the 13lb Wolff hammer spring, I could feel the DA pull more smoothly by way of being lighter, still gritty with the factory parts and could use more polishing. With the original shorter spring, you could really feel the wall towards the back of the DA pull. Mistakes made and lessons learned.
  5. I received my +10% Wolff springs and TTI +4 mag extensions for my SP-01 today. This are supposed to be going into Mec Gar 17 round AFC mags. After what looked and felt like 5 rounds in the octagon, I got one together. It only holds 15 rounds now. These springs are almost twice as long and a lot thicker than the stock springs. There is just no room for them to compress. Have any of you had to cut coils off of them to make them work?
  6. I replaced my stock (and very worn out) recoil spring with Wolff springs. The package came with extra power striker springs.... What exactly do these do? I've read they reduce lock time, and I have also read they increase trigger pull weight. Are those both correct? I haven't installed them yet, wanted to check it out a bit first. I am going to be doing a trigger job soon, looking for a lighter pull, but if decreasing the lock time is worth it, I can sacrifice a little on trigger weight if lock time is a bigger benefit. Suggestions? Ideas?
