  1. Seen the question asked many times...which mag extension should I run?! Well, I've had the most success with Taylor Freelance on Glock Mags...interested to see if anyone else supports this opinion or has another brand they prefer:
  2. Friends, Wanted to share some of my own findings with you regarding Sig magazine extensions. Right now, the three non-Sig metal extensions that I am aware of are Apex, Taylor Freelance, and TRT, also pictured is the Sig 20 round SWAT German magazine. All of the magazine extensions have been mounted on MecGar 20 round magazines. These are slightly longer and allow proper fitting, especially if using the TRT Maxwell. The Taylor Freelance for sure will not work on a regular Sig magazine; it will not seat.
  3. So I just finished by Glock 22 with Taylor Freelance Sightracker block and just curious - anyway to predict whether it will need a different front sight - some say the Glock barrel lies pretty straight so it will not matter much - anyone do this and have an experience to share? Thanks.
  4. I'm needing to set up a second pistol for 3 gun and I have a G17 that currently has no purpose. I'm thinking of starting to slowly build it up for 3 gun and one thing that I like about my current pistol is it has a longer sight radius. Would a Taylor Freelance barrel shroud not be legal under any of the larger 3 gun match rule sets? I shoot limited and don't plan on any other division anytime soon. As far as why, to set it up with sights, trigger, barrel, and shroud I'd have about $140 more in the pistol than the price of a stock G34. Also I think it looks cool and why not unless I can't shoot it and remain in limited division. For now it can be narrowed down to this rule from RM3G, (bold added by me)- 6. Limited Classes a. Firearms must be of factory configuration. b. Pistols with custom or factory installed electronic sights, optical sights, extended sights, compensators or barrel porting are NOT allowed in this class. Pistol magazines shall not exceed 170mm overall length for single stacks, and shall not exceed 140mm OAL for staggered magazines. Does it violate factory configuration or count as an extended sight?
  5. I picked up some Taylor Freelance M&P mag extensions this week and had a question for y'all. I put together one last night, and the basepad was ridiculously tight going on to the mag body. So tight that I had to tap it on a table to fully seat the basepad to the body. Anybody else had an extension this tight? I hear a lot of guys talking about cleaning mags between stages, there is no way this one would allow me to do that. My mags aren't very old (less than 6 months) and have only been through one 3gun event and a few range sessions. Don't have issues with the mags not dropping free, so the mag bodies aren't too far out of factory spec. I'll be using all Smith & Wesson factory mags. So what do y'all think? Seen or heard this before? I emailed Taylor Freelance about it, looking forward to their response. I thought I'd throw it up here as well.
