  1. I really hate to ask this. but here it goes. I am 100% new to loading 38sc and for an open gun. I have a schuemann hybrid 3 port barrel. with a comp that has 3 ports on top and 2 side ports. I havent seen a whole lot of published load data for 38 super comp that gets major pf. I am wanting to load up 125 grain coated rn bullets. I have no.7, wac, lil gun, power pistol, and shooters world major pistol. can some one give me a few tips on where to start. I got the gun used and the previous owner used 10.2 grains of 3n38. which doesnt shoot too flat in my opinion. the dot seems to dance around i
  2. Just a comment - I've read on other threads here (BE) and on other forums to expect HS6 to be really dirty. After a detailed cleaning of the gun (including brass brush dremel cleaning of the comp) I shot a couple hundred rounds (maybe more) of 10gr VV 3n38 behind 124 MG JHP. Detailed cleaned again - including dremel brass brush cleaning the comp. Then shot a couple hundred more rounds of 9gr HS6 behind 124gr MG. I didn't have the foresight to take comparison pictures this time, but the HS6 was definitely cleaner than 3n38. HS6 left a lot less 'burn residue' on the comp in comparison to
  3. Does this look like over pressure? 9.0 gr HS6 124 MG OAL 1.235
  4. When I reload 9, I typically deprime and case gauge before cleaning. This way, I can identify any bulges before loading them up. Then, I case gauge them agan before putting them into the ammo box. Yes, I'm a little OCD when it comes to case gauging. So now, I am preparing to load my first batch of 38 super comp. I have a case gauge for 38 super auto - will this work for 38 super comp brass? The reason I ask is because I'm finding a LOT more bulged cases than with 9. It is probably due to the increased pressures, but it can't hurt to ask if I'm using the correct gauge. Thanks in advance
  5. Hello all, I shot in USPSA back in the late 90's to early 2000's. I had a SV in 38 super that I used in open class. I ended up having to sell it all due to health reasons. I have recently been getting back into the shooting sports, and recently contacted a local club member that I used to shoot with. He had told me that he had switched to all cowboy shooting and had not shot ans USPSA in many years. He also told me that since he didnt shoot them anymore, he would offer both of his STI 38 super open guns to me for sale, including all of the equipment to go along with them, since they were onl
