Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. With it angled up, it pockets pretty nice (installed one yesterday), but I can definitely see where that could happen. However, the ease of hitting it now compared to before, for me at least, makes the trade off thus far worth it. Notably, with the new point of leverage, depending where you apply pressure, the release doesn't slide through as easily or cleanly?(not sure how to describe it, because it doesn't hang up or get caught, and it still functions as intended, but not as "smooth" per se). But that's only ever now and again.
  2. Thanks for response. My short nub of a thumb could definitely benefit from the extra length
  3. Would the Lok/other brand extended mag releases be legal for Production? With the rule change allowing replacement of small external parts with aftermarket, I wasn't sure if length of the paddle could be increased as well.
  4. Now thats an idea, kind of eliminates all the problems...sans whether the barrel would fit
  5. The goal is to one day get a czechmate or a purpose built open gun, but cost is out of reach at the moment. I also unfortunately don't have any buddies that are machinist or have the means to get the equipment needed to learn myself. I more or less wanted to do this just to sate my inner desire to tinker, you know, idle hands and all. Also, given that comps on shadows are a rarely treaded upon territory, my interest was peaked to try and find a viable solution. Given what you said about the guide rods though, it would appear going with one that only attached via threads might be the best option given my limitations.
  6. Ah you're exactly who I hoped would comment. I've found that cz custom, cgw, and eeimantech make replacement steel guide rods for the ts/ts2/tso, shooters connection also makes a tungsten one but it comes at a price. I did think the barrel idea might of been a bust, as I didn't account for the shoulder/extra length before the threading too. Do you sell any of the comps you make? I'm new to the enos forum and haven't gotten the hang of searching around on it yet. Moreover, would you make a 1/2x28 comp with a cz profile e.g. czechmate style? I'd be interested. If that were the case, and I snagged one of the aforementioned guide rods and a czc barrel, it might work with little modification. At most, I'd notch the front of the frame, but trying to avoid going past the point of no return.
  7. There are a handful of aftermarket ones too, along with various other make model variants (they all seem to shy away from the 1/2 x 28) ... my concern is whether the tso/ts2/ts barrel and guide rod would function/work/fit in a shadow 2, minus the status quo barrel fitting that goes along with normal cz barrel fitting. Without having the tso/ts2/ts to compare in hand, it's hard gather the info online.
  8. Tackling 1 problem at a time haha. Although there are other comp solutions, like going standard czc threaded barrel, and grabbing a 1/2 x 28 comp, and fitting, if this is an option, I'd rather go big or go home on it haha
  9. First time posting, Disregarding the why on a shadow 2, I had a theory, and not sure if it'd work. To limit the amount of machining and custom work, would it be possible to run a TS/TS2/TSO barrel and guide rod on a shadow 2? Why? The shadow 2 barrel is 4.8", the TS and such are 5.2". The guide rod is also approx 1/4" longer. Thereby, if you threaded the remaining .40" barrel in say, a tanfoglio thread pitch (rather than 1/2x28), you could run a tanfoglio or similar open comp on a shadow 2, while utilizing the guide rod to prevent the comp from spinning. All the while, your slide and frame remain untouched...sans some fitting on the comp if it interferes with the frame/rail portion. This way, your only machining cost could be for threading the barrel. More or less, it creates a budget czechmate-esq comp, without needing to worry about the cone, slide stroke, or modifying the slide or frame. Lemme know what you think
