  1. Slow is smooth & smooth is fast!! Or at least on paper......
  2. Hey Mike, find me on Tuesday night steel or at a weekend match and I can help. or email me. scotty25075@gmail.com scott shepherd
  3. the ejector rod sure seems flimsy on the larger gp100s that I have handled. it seems like it would bend under hard use. and I am hard on the ejectors, most matches im bleeding from the hole punch smith rod........ any input on if they hold up in the little 101? different design? I wouldn't mind one for a back up or pocket gun.
  4. check the crane screw, they fail and allow the cylinder and crane to fall out.
  5. for me, I just don't like to leave targets standing. I think its a revolver pride thing. I have at times not seen that I left a popper up, but if I know its standing, I will reload to hit it. I know its not the best thing to do for match scores at times.
  6. HOOORAY USPSA!!!! Thanks Rob for your hard work towards this and to the other area reps that voted for it.
  7. TOM E im with you. Apex is almost done with my other 627-4 set up for limited. I quit shooting uspsa with a revolver. its just not so fun. my other 627 is ported and has a dot. uspsa 8 shot minor will have me shooting everything I can in revolver.
  8. nothing wrong with tinkering with your hobby!! enjoy
  9. I AGREE with Tom E above. if someone has an issue with a factory Taurus barrel giving them a competitive advantage they are in the wrong game.....
  10. PSKYS2 I agree if we had a few more people that shot 6 shooter with me it would make it more fun. but im not sure I still could stick with it as my primary gun to shoot. also the 625 with major loads makes my wrists sore. my joints get beat up from motocross and 625 seems to finish them off. shooting my 627 for hundreds of rounds in a day seems to have little effect on my joints. and the 627 is more economical to shoot, cheaper bullets and less powder. I would rather shoot 8 shot revo in any match than and auto for the pure fun and its more economical. scott
  11. Yes the web says that. I'm not sure why but I called last week & sent in my 627 Monday. Got a call Thursday, it's almost done. 4.5# double action amazingness.
  12. I don't find that to be true as I have n - frames there now. call them and ask, they do still take in work. and finish it quickly!!!
  13. So there is a shop in the northern part of California that tinkers with Smith Revos a bit. APEX tactical specialties is the name. They have sub-5 pound double action trigger jobs that are glass smooth & work. A few big names in the pro revolver circles are wielding Apex's guns.
  14. And my hammer is not production limited.
  15. I know I was physically able to shoot my 8 shot in uspsa, I just don't have the willingness. It voids the point of shooting uspsa for me with a 6 shot gun. I am & have been an avid uspsa shooter & I LOVE icore. I'm anxious to shoot uspsa type matches with 8 shot minor revolver as my equipment. I can't help but shoot 8 shots, it's unnatural to reload in the middle of shooting targets within a shooting area. Seems wrong to me. Pskys2 I appreciate your tip & I wish you lots of luck with shooting 6. I just can't get into the 6 shot thing. I should sell my 625 collection to protest. =-)
  16. They offer 1-16" & 1-14" I believe
  17. So where do we stand with all this? are we able to shoot 8 shot minor in revo now or do we have to wait till it passes or whats the story?
  18. Weigand makes a good solid mount. just watch the clearance at the rear of the mount to the frame. Some mounts hit the frame & bind.
  19. My apex holes are a little bit cone shaped but not.much. got any pictures?
  20. Bubber are your hybrid holes a cone shape, like mine from Apex? small at the rifling and large at the top of the barrel?
  21. CLAYS with lead will smoke like a freight train though.......
  22. the rules prior did not have a minimum caliber for major pf for revolver. so 8 shot major could be made with supers, specials or mags.
  23. Rudy owns billy bullets, 480-695-8100.. good friend and great guy. scott
