  1. I think I saw somewhere a few years ago some kind of an open sight that took place right on the scope. The rear sight on the eyepiece, the front sight on the objective. Might be fast and effective with a front fiber optic and a rear V-type (Ashley). Anybody tried this setup ?
  2. My question is about the control you are submitted to when you own a gun in the US. Do you have to periodically renew some kind of paperworks ? (in France, our authorisation to own a gun is 3-year valid). Do you have to periodically prove you still have the gun ? When traveling back home from abroad (where you went for an IPSC competition), does anybody (customs, airline,...) check that you brought your blaster back ? Just wondering ...
  3. When I was looking for subsonic loads, I tried BA 10 with 148gr bullets. OAL 1.270", 3.395 grains (0.22 grams), velocity 912 ft/s. PF 135. Precision was not great.
  4. or put a chewing gum (used obviously ) at one end of a pencil, and go fishing ...
  5. Hispeed, When that happens (to me, at least), I always find a piece of cleaning media - a grain of rice in my case) in the funnel. This is the only cause of such a jam I had so far.

  7. jhgtyre & Vince, Thanks, I can go to bed now: I've learned something today !
  8. Steve, Go there for a complete explanation: http://www.ipsc.org Basically, it's a small match designed by the IPSC to be set up at local clubs all around the wolrd. Then, you just send the results by postal mail, so you have a worldwide comparison.
  9. Eric, Thanks. I just set all the security options to the lowest, still doesn't work ! I have no firewall. I just don't understand...
  10. Dump 1567, The link for speedshooter doesn't work, and hasn't for a few months. Is it my computer or what ?
  11. I think I've got the answer to the second part of the question. Anybody wants to team up for a half bottle of slide glide ?
  12. Thanks Jim. I'll try to shoot different guns, to get a precise idea.
  13. BamBam, I have two problems with the comp: - there are some cracks on (through) the baffles. IMO, this is due to their thiness : 0.035 - 0.04" - on two spots on the baffles, you can see two starting holes, like littles cratters. IMO, this might come from copper plated bullets, on which the copper comes apart (ie two or more holes in close targets). Anyone on the BP Tech comp ?
  14. Perfect timing for this thread: my titanium comp is just starting to come apart (too thin baffles). I'm currently in the process to selecting a new one, and I can't decide between the EGW and the BP tech VA comps. Jim, you said you tried a BP: anymore info ? Anyone else can compare both comps ?
  15. Even, It was a shared pleasure. You're a very nice guy. Too bad we had this computer thing at the end: not a good image for France ! Hopefully we had good matches, nice people and ... Mc Donalds We'll meet again on matches. Take care.
  16. Thanks Vince, Appreciate your fast answers. I hope it can be an ICS match. FYI, here's the list of registered shooters: www.tdlchevalblanc.com/medcup2002/Tireursinscrits.htm
  17. Thanks Vince, I'm sure the organisers weren't aware of the ICS, so there might be no ICS stages. But I read that "For this first year, classification matches (where the overall match results count) will only be available to pre-approved Level III matches where known Grand Masters will be participating" on the IPSC website, and as there will be a bunch of them, that's why I asked. Is this still allright ?
  18. Vince ICS is a good thing. I just got my alias yesterday. I talked to the staff of the Euro Mediterranean Cup about it a few days ago. Thay said they'll try to have the match entered fir the ICS (there should be no problem considering the level of competitors). Any news about that match ?
  19. If this is real, it's breaking my heart. I spent 2 1/2 years in Chicago as a baby (Dad at dental school) and consider it as my second home town. Anyway, I could still move to my brother (San Francisco) or in Minnesota (I love this place).
  20. Sad day for democracy ! Government said today that we must render our guns by July 2003. Seems to be all handguns but 22lr. We won't let this happen ! Help us by giving us ideas. Can the English and Australian citizens on the forum explain us what they were able to do in their country ? If you do not want that to happen to your country, remember: never vote for the leftists ! The words can't explain what I'm feeling right now. It's a mix of lack of freedom to do the sport I want, a negation of private property, a desolation to see shooting ranges and gunsmith about to close. In France there is 100,000 responsible law abiding gun owners, as well as over 10,000 people whose business (and life) is gun related. This f**king prime minister will negate them, just for his own promotion. Brian, I know you don't allow politics on the forum, but I thought I had to tell all of you this sad news. I just wanted to let you know, and warn you: this can happen. We are at 3 days of our presidential election. I hope this might change the situation. We just have to vote against this a_-hole. Again it's hard to explain what I feel, evenmore in a foreign language. But I'm sure you understand. Sad day for democracy.
  21. Even, Your name is now on the match website, registered shooters page, along with so many people from all over Europe that this is becoming amazing ! We'll have a lot of fun ... http://www.tdlchevalblanc.com/medcup2002/Tireursinscrits.htm (Edited by Jerome Poiret at 10:41 pm on April 16, 2002)
  22. Nice try Flex ! We say "on" not "en", but that was pretty close
  23. As for the US shooters, it seems that they are Max Michel and Adam Bossier. Sounds like we gonna have a great supersquad, with Eric Grauffel (World champ), Saul Kirsh (1st Israel), Stefano Battistini (1st Italian), Peter Heller (1st Swiss), Christian Lacroix (1st Belgium), Eddy Testa (11th at WSXII) as well as the top shooters from Greece, Spain, Netherland...and counting.
