    McCarbo parts

I have a P-01 and have been looking at the trigger parts from McCarbo. Does anyone have any experience with this company and parts?
  2. I have the Dillon 550 and load only pistol. I have accumulated brass, bullets, and powder it seems in the nick of time with the latest panic. My question concerns the additional equipment I will need. Also any good sources of info to help me get started.
  3. I just started to load some 9mm for my wife"s xd sc. The hogdon site says the oal should be 1.125 using clays. Is this the max or minimum oal using a bear creek 125 lrn?
  4. What OAL do you use form that load?
  5. I have regluar clays. The website says max load is 3.3gr
  6. I am just starting to load some 9mm loads for my wife and her XD subcompact. These are practice rounds only. I have some clays left over I thought I would try. I also have some WST. Does anyone have any experience with either of these powders. I will be loading a Bear creek 125gr bullet.
  7. I just started to use WST @ 4.2 grains with a 180 gr moly coated bullet. Very accurate out of my xd 40. I was using Titegroup but did not like the smoke and was experincing pressure spikes.
  8. Sperman I do not have a SDB but have the 550b and was having the same problem. After making a call to dillon they suggested when adjusting the seating die to make sure all the stations are full. After trying this my OAL is well within the variation mentioned by the other folks.
  9. I new to reloading on a 550b. I'am loading 200gr swc bear creek bullets. I have set and checked the seating die for 1.250 with+- .007 varience. I just got through loading 100 rounds, 60 rounds were with in the 1.250 OAL. Forty rounds how ever were running 1.260 to 1.269. I have checked the bell on the cases and the bullet will sit firmly on top. The dies have been cleaned out with a chore boy brush. I have to be doing something wrong. This is not the 1st time with this problem. It also happens when loading 40S&W. Help
  10. Harmon which powder were you talking about WST or WSF.
  11. I shoot an xd 40 service, with the don's guide rod 22lb spring. The bullet i use is the 180 gr bear creek fp. I use this pistol for IDPA and would like to start shooting USPSA matches as well. The powder I have used in the past was Titegroup with 4.0 to 4.2 load. I started to see some erratic readings from this (1000fps). So I wanted to try a new powder and was looking at WST or WSF. Anyone have any thoughts?
  12. I just bought some Clays powder to reload 45 acp. I will be using 230 gr lrn and 200 gr swc. I shoot IDPA and will need major PF of 165. It will be shot from my springer 5 inch barrel. Any good starting points would be appreciated.
  13. I shoot 45acp and 40 S&W for IDPA and USPSA matches. I currently use Titegroup for both loads and want to try some thing new. I am looking at clays or WST. THe titegroup has been good but seems to smoke excessive with lead and moly bullets. I realize its the lube. Can either of these powders be used for both loads or do I need to have one for each? I have read the Titegroup is ahotter burning powder.
  14. A question to all the experinced reloaders. I load a 230 gr LRN over 4.5 grs of Titegroup. The website says to seat to 1.20. On this forum and others I see where other loaders are using 1.25. will I notice a difference in the pressure of the round by seating lower than the 1.250.
  15. I recently got my dillon 550 and started to load 40S&W. Iproblem that is happenign to often is when I bell the case in station 2 the rim of the case is crushed or rolled along the rim of the case. This is about 1/8th or less along the rim and an even lesser amountdown the case wall. It looks like a gouge in the case. I'am using range brass.
  16. Is the Springfield TRP legal in IDPA?
  17. I am waiting on my new 550 press to arrive any day. My question is there an optimum place on the bench i should bolt the press? My bench has 2 LAYERS OF PLYWOOD 3/4 of an inch each. This has been glued and screwed together.
  18. I plan on getting the 550b as soon as my bonus check comes through and have a question. My brother-in-law has a bench he made with a formica laminate top, will this material be strong enough to mount the press?
  19. Try 4.4 grains and that should get your to around 930 or so which will just make PF and then some. What are you shooting your XD 40 in, Production or L10 or Limited? g10 Glockman this match is not a USPSA match. They are using a major and minor catagory to make it even for everyone. By the way thanks for the reply and info.
  20. I will be shooting in a local club match with my xd-40 with a 4inch barrel. I need to make a pf of 165 with a Bear Creek 180 gr moly coated bullet, with titegroup powder. The hodgdon site says 4.7 grs will give me 978 ft/sec. I have seen loads less than that. I just need to be pointed in the right direction.
  21. I was looking for some ideas on some starting loads using OregonTrail 230gr rn lasercast bullets. I will be using titegroup powder, shooting a 5 inch barrell. I need to make a 165 power factor.
