  1. Yup. Its just an inner belt except that the part that overlaps and attaches to hold it in place is the small 1.5" piece that's attached to elastic. It does work well and not get bunched up when tightening the outer belt.. While I don't have personal experience with the old design, it does look like the metal buckle in that design would get bunched up. If you already have an inner belt you can buy just the ratcheting outer belt. They are great. Give jason a call if you have questions. I spoke with him for quite a while. Great guy.
  2. Here's a pic of the business end of their new designed inner belt.
  3. Here you go. Sorry for my poor cell phone photography skills. Basically its a ~1.5" piece of the inner belt with hooks that's attached to the rest of the inner belt with a short piece of elastic band. In my experience their belts run big so order 1" smaller.
  4. My personal observations from shooting steel at an indoor range would suggest otherwise. The bullets fragment with pieces flying everywhere. We sweep up the range after every event and there are very small pieces of lead everywhere. They absolutely fragment, carrying energy with the fragments.
  5. In this example it's momentum (power factor) = mass x velocity. The 45acp in this example has a 172.5 power factor and a typical 124 gr store bought ammo is causing along at 1150 fps has only a 142.6 power factor. Less momentum. Unfortunately there are rarely good first hand examples of .45 vs 9mm where the power factors are equal. They do exist but most folks who only shoot store bought ammo aren't likely to have.
  6. Fair, but given the same bullet alloy composition which will fragment more easily and thus its fragments have more energy (less transferred to the plate)?
  7. One thing to note about dominant defense is they have changed their inner belt design from what is pictured above. They no longer use the metal part and elastic loops and have transitioned to a ~2" piece of velcro'd (hook) belt at the end attached via elastic. This velcros to the loop of the belt and still provides the flexibility of the original design. It works well.
  8. Looking for the best airsoft pistol to simulate an P320 X5 legion. Closest I could find is the Proforce M17 but was wondering if there's something better out there. Thanks!
  9. I'm not sure trusting lack of enforcement is a prudent move.
  10. Lytton custom holsters also has a thumbrest option. Owning both RHT and Llyton custom holsters, id go Llyton. It is higher price but way faster turnaround and better quality.
  11. Another very happy dominant defense owner here.
  12. Since you're on a highly specialized gun forum I think it's probably safe to assume you already own some handguns. If budget is the #1 importance and you own something like a glock 19 (or some other common Tupperware gun) you could just buy a optic cut slide. That plus an inexpensive but decent optic like a vortex viper/venom would get you in the game for under $500. Just another option to consider.
  13. Midway is definitely cheaper in bulk but for only a couple of several different types benstoegerproshop.com is the way to go. Mini pasters for mini targets?
  14. Kinda wondering if the "expensive extreme pressure additive" isn't antimony diamyldithiocarbamate. There are several red stringy lubricants on the market that fit the same bill.
  15. I ordered a custom lytton competition holster and one from RHT at the same time. The lytton holster shipped 13 days from purchase (with excellent communication during that time). The RHT shipped 27 days from purchase. 27 days isn't too bad but if you're looking for something fast and better quality, check out Jason at Lytton custom holsters. One thing I like is you can buy them premounted with a Boss hanger. He also sells mag pouches but I haven't tried those. Lyttoncustomholsters.com
