  1. Thanks to everyone who replied, you've helped me make up my mind to just get the JP and forget about it!!! I'll just call John, tell him what I want, and let him do all the thinking for me.
  2. I have been searching this site and I'm sure that the JP is the way to go. They have an excellent reputation on this site and I've never heard a negative comment. I'm just not sure how I should go about it? My current rifle is and has been very reliable. The accuracy is good enough for the local match (which only goes to 50 yards), but what about bigger matches. I've never been and have only fired my rifle only up to 300 yards with irons. Accuracy was nothing to brag about (10 shots in about a 12 inch group, best I can remember). To answer the third question, I believe that I would benefit from all the features of a JP. Since transitions and splits would be minimized with those features. No brake, just the A2 flash suppressor. And I haven't cursed my current rifle. It has done everything I've asked thus far. I'm just planning for the next big match. Lastly, what do I gain from a JP lower? It seems all the important stuff is in the upper.
  3. I was looking to keep the drive to work no more than 30 minutes. I've been driving for an hour and a half for the past five years and I'm not wanting to do the same in TN. Thanks for the info, at this point any info is good info!
  4. Looks like I'll be moving to Chattanooga this summer. Anybody know of a good place to shoot USPSA and/or 3 gun? Also, what about housing for a family of five? I'll be working on the south side of Chattanooga, any good housing close by? I'm completely ignorant to that area any info would be helpful. Thanks
  5. I would if money was no object but since it is I thought I could just get the most improvement from just the upper. Do feel that a new lower is neccessary? I've already got the jp trigger in my bushy lower, what else is there to gain from a jp lower (and still remain legal in Tactical division)?
  6. I've been shooting a monthly 3-gun match for the past few years with a 16" Bushmaster and was thinking of upgrading to a JP upper. I would like the rifle to do two jobs: first and foremost 3-gun competitions (Tactical Division) and a near second would be home defense. I shoot approximately 1500-3000 rounds a year and was considering shooting some major 3-gun matches; i.e. state and area matches. I already have the complete JP trigger package in my lower and I'm thinking of just replacing the upper. Should I keep the bushy upper for home defense and dedicate the JP upper for competitions? Or purchase a JP upper for both roles and sell the bushy upper? Is the JP going to be too much rifle? Is it worth it or should I just spend the money on more ammo and practice?? Also, if I go with JP which barrel twist/length, Comp, and other features should I go with? I'm not reloading so I will be shooting factory ammo; i.e. Blackhills... Thanks for your help!!!
