  1. Today a question came in to the shop asking for the history of the Patriot, so here it is. As has been answered before, there were 16 Patriots made. They were made right after 9/11, and there was a red, white, and blue signature theme. Dave has 001, it's hard chromed and shoots great. These guns were not a complete custom build, they came in as functioning guns from STI, but Dave did the sight cuts, full enhancement, and slide cuts. They featured a Novak front sight cut, with a Bomar rear, flutes in the slide, DP Patriot on one side, and an American flag on the other side. The base guns were blued with a red magwell, and there was an option up to hard chrome (I think all but 2 were hard chrome). The original price of the pistols was $1776. So that's a quick history lesson on these.... Thanks, Chris
  2. Never seen it happen in thousands of rounds on the SDB.
  3. In my #1 die on my Dillon Square Deal B, I had a 9mm case that completely stuck in the die. All attempts with needle nose pliers, the vise, and punching it out have failed. It's really stuck. Any ideas?
  4. I have a Wilson Combat CQB compact, and I will never buy another sub 5 inch 1911. Mine has sentimental value which is what has kept it from being traded. That being said, I also have an STI 4.15 inch Tactical in 9mm which is one of the best purchases I have ever made. But it's a 9mm
  5. Springfield makes a Professional model with rail, seems to be hard to find, but they run. The new Colt Rail gun is getting solid reviews, but I believe it' a Series 80
  6. Thanks for the info. I have been running with 5 Safariland 773s for a couple of years now, and recently someone called me on the hip thing.
  7. Surefire, worth the extra bucks
  8. How do you guys get past the requirement to have them behind the hip area? Just got called on that recently, but I can't reach all of them if I start at the hip
  9. Thanks for all of the help, I really appreciate it
  10. The locking paddle rides the closest for CCW if you are trying to buy just one holster. If CCW is not a factor, go with the Belt Holster
  11. I have to begin reloading .40. I have been searching all over for the correct data, and I need to make major PF with an STI Edge, using Precision Bullets 185 gr moly coat. Here is what I have gathered: VV N320- 5.3 powder charge WIN 231 (which I use the most)- 4.7 powder charge and 1.13 OAL Am I on the right track?
  12. Bladetech definitely makes one, I have 2 of them for my Edge. Bought them both from Dawson Precision Alright.....we are not talking "by the rules" here.....I guess the guys wanted to get me out there? I told them what I had and they stated I should come shoot. So....I think they would probably allow me to shoot with the gun, but the holster would need to be by the rules. Otherwise, I guess I could use my CR Speed WSM II. THANKS! 13. Anyone have any advice to offer about Titgroup and 200 grain Zero bullets. My buddy and I are trying to come up with a load using this combination, but are having a little trouble getting to major PF. In order to get there, seems we need to really up the grains, and we don't want to do that unless we have to. Thanks
  14. I immediately ordered a Tool Less Guide Rod from Dawson Precision, and never looked back. I did not like the other guide rod set ups.
  15. I have a set of stock 126 STI mags for duty use and have had no problems.
  16. One of my shooting partners is currently awaiting a custom SS for SS Division, but he went very minimalist with his project, and will be very good with it. I have been dabbling in SS for over a year with a fairly expensive semi-custom, and like all things, I think it's the shooter and not the tool that makes a difference.
  17. Check out Raven Concealment, very good holsters
  18. How does it ride? I am very interested, but concerned that it would sit off the hip too far
