  1. Love my Spartan. I was shopping for an LB, and was handed a Spartan at the Arms Room... no, I don't want an Armscor...wait... this thing feels good...really good.......bought it, absolutely LOVE it! (Before the flames start, I am NOT comparing a Spartan to a LB...it just fit the bill and saved me enough to buy some new reloading equipment...) BTW; not my first 1911. Been shooting pins/plates for 20 years, and have been through 20+ 1911's...
  2. Shot the match this morning... did MUCH better than I thought I would. In other words I didn't completely embarass myself! Seriously, I've been around guns for 40+ years and have never found a weapon that is more intutitive, and easy to shoot well, as this one. I'm hooked!
  3. I recently bought a Rock River and have been very pleased! I'm sure that there are other good ones out there, too though. The RRA's prices are very good at the local gun shows (750-1000).
  4. I just reloaded my first .223's yesterday for my RRA Predator Pursuit. I used 75gr BTHP's and 23.5 grs RL-15. Very accurate. Haven't chrono'd yet though.
  5. I bought a new RRA Predator Pursuit a couple of weeks ago, my first AR. It's an amazing shooter. I shot a five shot group at 300 yards with standard open sights that I could cover with the palm of my hand! This my not be all that great to some, but for me it was magic! I'm shooting my first NRA High Power match with it this morning, we'll see how I hold up... Jim
  6. The rule in my house: "What Baby wants, Baby gets!" If we're shopping, (yes, I go shopping with her...), and she can't decide between two blouses, I say, "Oh Babe, just get them both!" Never fails to win me favor when it's gun buying time! Lunch at the mall with your wife - $50 Two blouses and a pair of shoes - $100 Honey, I need a new AR-15 match rifle for $1000, "Sure, Jim, whatever you want..." - PRICELESS!
  7. All great suggestions... I have three requirements: Fridge for beer and water Coffee pot LOTS of lights, including reel-lights hung everywhere! Jim in Texas
  8. Thanks guys! I'll use it up...
  9. I have about two pounds of Clays, that's been stored in it's original container for around six years in my barn. Should it be ok? I noticed it's darker in color than what being produced now. (I bought a small container of new Clays.) Thanks! BTW: Clays is what I use for .38 Special and .45 ACP, for plates/pins and PPC. Jim in Texas
  10. Absolutely! I've been married sixteen years to that beauty, and would like to stay that way! She's OK with pics, as long as they are tasteful.
  11. Thanks guys! She's the best, and sure doesn't look 43! I keep looking older, and she keeps looking better, not fair!
  12. They are all good... but TOJW has it, hands down!
  13. I'd definitely grab it for $650! That's a steal!
  14. Ditto on the vinegar/peroxide mix... I ruined an SA barrel this way many years ago. I run 3.8 Clays and 200 LSW with no problems. On my revolvers, I always finish with a cylinder of JHP's. Cleans the lead right out...
  15. I know Norm was shooting on his birthday... I watched him blazing on the pins! Good shooting, and Happy Birthday Norm! Jim
