Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. One weird exception..... The Ruger .22 pistols... The serialized portion is the UPPER RECIEVER.... You can ship lowers all day long, no FFL required.... I was looking into a Tac-Lite upper for my MKI and found out about it... Billy
  2. I'd have to argue that point. My 10-22 was VERY accurate out of the box. It is quite capable a "dinging" quarters at 50yrds (I have the dented quarters to prove it!) The aftermarket barrel has made it even more so! As for proper cleaning, the 10-22 is a cinch to disasemble and clean.... Just takes a little practice. Easy to clean breach to muzzle. That said, I think a bolt gun would be a better choice.... Like I said, my 6yo is getting one this summer (bolt gun, not 10-22). JMHO BIlly
  3. DITTO Seriously, My 6yo is getting a Red Ryder this Christmas, and a Savage singleshot this summer for his birthday....
  4. Kind of a dumb Question, but couldn't a good machinist make one for less 1K$???? Billy
  5. DUDE! NEVER Touch brake cleaner with your bare hands! It is some nasty stuff! Not only will it RIP the oils out of your skin, but prolonged exposure is thought to cause some cancers! Only use with gloves and in a WELL ventilated area! It is so aquious, that i wouldnt doubt it got passed your bullet and corrupted the powder... Your lucky it didnt corrupt the primers.... I dont KNOW if the chemicals would have an adverse reaction, but I wouldnt want to find out.... Since they havent gone boom while sitting in boxes yet, your probably safe.... Now you will get plenty of practice with "imediate action drills" JMHO Billy
  6. For the price (get ready) You realy cant Beat Lee (Duck the tomatoes!) Seriously, I have a standard turret and it works just fine... There was a learning curve, but not bad. Take a look at cabela's, supposedly they have a cast turret kit that just needs powder, primers and bullets... Works like a charm man... Billy
  7. Their OAL for the listed Powder type and bullet is the shortest you can "safely" go... The publishers do LOTS of testing with pressure barrels, and I realy wouldnt want to go shorter than the listed limit. Remember, making the OAL will decrease pressure, so you can always make it longer. But making the OAL shorter will increase the pressure. I load my 9mm long... my BHP and S&W 915 like the finished rounds a little longer than factory... JMHO Billy
  8. Go to your local indoor range... Mine sells me all the brass I can shoot for less than the scrap price... The only catch is I have to sort it my self. Billy
  9. My S&W 915 shoots .356 better than .355..... Its what I buy
  10. I know on precision long guns, accuracy hounds tend to load long, so they can get engagement of the rifleing when the round is seated.... Might the same be true of Handguns? Billy
  11. For 9mm and .45 I have no problem with Berry's.... Oh, and unless you are going to be a WAY high volume loader.... Think LEE... (Duck the tommatoes) Cheap enough to learn on and realize its not for you.... Or if your like me, and move somewhere that you cant re-load Billy
  12. As far as I know (witch isnt much) It only works in revolvers... How would you get empty cases to feed in a Semi-Auto, or get the weapon to cycle... Since I dont own a revolver.....??? JMHO
  13. I doubt it... They have two completely differnt profiles....
  14. I too like shooting 147's (LFP & Berry's Plated) from my BHP and S&W 915... They took the 915 from paterning like a shotgun, to actually shooting well... I think the "softer" feeling has to do with the physics of the exit velocity of the round... a 147 leaves the muzzle at a much slower velocity, resulting in the "push" felt rather than the "snap" from higher velocity 115 loads... JMHO Billy
  15. Glad your walther worked out so well... I was considering one, when I talked to some people who own them. They all said DONT. They all had major problems. with them... Hopefully they have gotten the bugs worked out.
